The Architectural Process
The building process can be a long one, filled with decision after decision. It is our pleasure to help make the process as painless and fun-filled as it can be.
Programming: we begin by learning about your needs and wants - your “wishlist”
Schematic Design: we prepare several design options, often using rough sketches to convey our design concepts based on your programming
Design Development: sketches give way to actual drawings showing a refined solution with structure, framing, windows and doors, etc.
Budget Pricing: this can be a good time to have your General Contractor (or several contractors) prepare an estimated budget range for your project. Many clients select their contractor at this point.
Construction Documents: finalizing the drawings to meet the rigorous building code requirements, and includes plans, elevations, sections, deatils, and specifications.
Bidding and Negotiations: going through the bidding process (if you have not previously selected your contractor)
Construction Administration: we can follow the project through to completion by meeting regularly with the you and your contractor to help make the building process go smoothly.
